SDGs Parent-Child Education

Background
The Child Welfare League Foundation (CWLF) has long been serving children and families, supporting their growth and fostering healthy parent-child relationships. In today’s context of declining birth rates, we believe it is even more crucial to empower children to care about society, cherish the world, and take active steps to solve problems.
Building on our experience in helping children understand their rights and enhancing caregivers’ parenting capacities, we guide parents and children to observe and address everyday sustainability issues together. We accompany caregivers in practicing how to discuss social topics with their children, while nurturing children’s awareness of and sensitivity to the environment, culture, and community.
By strengthening critical thinking, communication, and civic engagement, children are encouraged to connect with their surroundings, develop aspirations for society, and care more deeply about the world. SDGs parent-child education not only benefits individuals and families but also contributes to long-term social development.
We work in partnership with schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote SDGs parent-child education through activities, advocacy, and the provision of resources and support. We believe that, through collective effort, we can build families and communities filled with love, respect, and support.

What We Do

SDGs Future Maker
Small actions can spark big impact! CWLF empowers parents and children to care about sustainability. Through design thinking and resource mobilization, they plan, carry out, and expand their own sustainability projects. In this process, they not only build sustainability literacy but also develop a strong “sense of competence.”
