Adoption Relinquishment Services
Background
Since 1992, the Child Welfare League Foundation (CWLF) has been providing adoption relinquishment services, extending its reach across Taiwan.
In line with the spirit of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), every child has the right to be cared for by their parents. However, some children cannot remain in their birth families and need the support of the state’s social welfare system to help them find an adoptive family that can provide proper care. Guided by the belief in finding children a permanent home and accompanying them as they grow, CWLF works hand in hand with both birth families and adoptive families to create a happy future for every child.

- Adoption relinquishment consultation and referral to resources
- Preparation for child relinquishment and adoption matching services (in collaboration with local governments)
- Post-matching parenting support and life adjustment support for adoptive families

Background
Adoption is a legally recognized process, guided by professional social workers, that establishes a parent-child relationship between individuals without biological ties. In Taiwan, many children need to be adopted, and many people wish to adopt a child. For CWLF, adoption services are not just a transitional step but a long-term commitment. We value the trust of every family and cherish the well-being of every child. With decades of experience, we provide dedicated support to families—helping them prepare before adoption, accompanying them through post-adoption needs, and continuously advocating for a more adoption-friendly society.

Who We Serve
We welcome prospective adoptive parents who are willing to follow CWLF’s service procedures and who demonstrate stability in family, finances, physical and mental health, and marital relationships (if they are couples). To ensure that every child is placed in a suitable family, we conduct a comprehensive assessment of adoptive applicants, taking into account factors such as income, health, length of marriage, home environment, caregiving plans, parenting capacity, and family support.
