Children's Song Resources: Singing and Dancing to Love Others and the World
The Secret Power of Children's Songs
Did you know that singing children's songs more often can improve children's mood — and even strengthen overall family well-being? A cross-national study involving researchers from Yale University found that when parents sing to their children more often, children's emotional well-being improves. This positive effect can also spread throughout the household, enhancing the overall sense of family happiness.
Many parents already know that repetitive lyrics and catchy melodies make children's songs a powerful tool for language learning, cognitive development, and exploring the world. Beyond learning about "Baby Shark," children can also learn to care for others and the world around them — and even develop the confidence to take action for the people and causes they care about. These are essential abilities that can be nurtured and encouraged from an early age.
With this in mind, CWLF partnered with UC Production (有事製作) and singer-songwriter Sung (小松) to create two original children's songs. Each song features simple, playful dance moves that make it easy for parents and teachers to sing, move, jump, and share warm hugs with children — expressing love for the people and the environment around them.

“A Bandage for the Earth” — Say OK! Let’s Protect the Earth Together!
Let's say OK!
Turn off the lights — OK!
Save some water — OK!
I'm the Earth's little bandage — OK! 🎶
Use eco-friendly tableware — OK!
Finish all your food — OK!
Be the Earth's little bandage! 🎶
Through this song, CWLF invites children to start with daily habits, raise their hands to make an "OK" sign, and move to the cheerful rhythm as they become little "bandages" protecting the Earth.

“Patch It Up with Magic Hugs” — Open Your Arms, Speak Love, and Turn Sad Feelings into Smiles!
Tick-tock, tick-tock, happiness has magic,
Open your arms — give a hug, just like that!
The angry monster turns to soft marshmallow fluff,
Take a bite, bite by bite — nom nom nom!
Family therapy pioneer Virginia Satir once said, "We need four hugs a day for survival, eight hugs for maintenance, and twelve hugs for growth."
Caring for the environment is important — and so is caring for the people around us. Learning to express love and gratitude, as well as to regulate emotions and release stress through warm hugs, is an essential part of emotional growth. This foundation also helps build a healthier and happier society for all.
"Patch It Up with Magic Hugs" was co-created by CWLF and singer-songwriter Sung to remind every parent and child that hugs and care bring warmth and strength. Little by little, these small moments add up to a powerful "magic" that carries us further, together.
