
CWLF Won Silver and Most Innovative Awards in Wofoo Asian Award for Advancing Family Well-Being

Wofoo Asian Award for Advancing Family Well-Being (Wofoo 3A Project) 2020 Final Round Adjudication as one of the highlights at the 6 th CIFA Regional Symposium - Family First: Supporting Asian Families in the Era of Inclusive Growth. The Final Round Adjudication of Wofoo 3A Project 2020 was held on 10 th June 2021. In which 8 finalist teams had survived the keen competition among 30 teams from 4 countries/regions in Asia to present their projects for competing for the Gold, Silver, Bronze Awards, Best Collaborative Award and Most Innovative Award.
The Wofoo 3A Project with sponsorship from Wofoo Social Enterprises since its commencement in 2010 has created a platform for social science professionals and their work collaborators to share wisdom and work experiences in promoting family well-being in Asian Region. Until now, the Project is not only known in Asian Region, but at an international level as it has received formal recognition from the United Nations, with Ms. Daniela Bas, Director of Division of Inclusive Social Development, Department of Economic and Social Affairs as the Guest of Honour at the Award Presentation Ceremony of in Korea in 2016 and in Hong Kong in 2018.
After a keen competition, The Hong Kong Council of Social Service won the Gold Award and Best Collaborative Award. The project named as “Community Housing Movement” is a social movement that aims at improving the housing needs of the grassroots families in a narrow sense, especially address their poverty issue. This joint efforts of the Funders, landlords, and NGOs/social enterprises (SEs), supported by the Government, since 2017 has demonstrated a great success to meet the project objectives. Child Welfare League Foundation R.O.C. won the Silver Award and Most Innovative Award. This project named as “Change – Starts from Me” Anti-Bullying Education Promotion Program”. This project’s great success is ride on the development of the bullying coping mechanism and principle to equip teachers and parents with knowledge and skills to help children understand emotions, ways to face bullying and relieve stress, and widely promote anti-bullying issue. Aberdeen Kai-fong Welfare Association Social Service won the Bronze Award. The project named as “Intergenerational Community Engagement Project” that successfully develops high levels of intergenerational solidarity in non-family context that carried over to the family context and has positive effect on intra-familial relationships among different generations.

This is the first time CIFA has to conduct online symposium and final round adjudication of Wofoo 3A Project competition instead of our traditional onsite event to be held in different countries/regions in Asia bi-yearly due to the pandemic and travel restrictions. Despite the fact that speakers and participants could not meet face-to-face to share and exchange directly, CIFA and the National Taiwan University Children and Family Research Center Sponsored by CTBC Charity Foundation (CFRC) had involved many distinguish scholars and professionals to deliver key notes, plenary and concurrent sessions with variety of topics that attracted over 700 registrations. Many positive feedbacks have been received.
