CRC Asia Regional Executive Director Amihan V. Abueva wins Asia Democracy and Human Rights Award
The 18th Asia Democracy and Human Rights Award was presented this morning at the Taipei Guest House to Amihan V. Abueva, the Regional Executive Director of CRC Asia (Child Rights Coalition Asia). Amihan V. Abueva has dedicated her life to advocating for and protecting children's rights, combating child violence, human trafficking of children, child pornography, and the exploitation of children and adolescents. In addition, she founded the "Asia Against Child Trafficking" to combat child trafficking and served as the regional liaison for the organization.

Amihan V. Abueva's advocacy for the fundamental rights of children aligns with the spirit of Child Welfare League Foundation(CWLF) and its longstanding beliefs. CWLF is also a member of the CRC Asia. CWLF, along with ECPAT Taiwan, collaborated to nominate Amihan V. Abueva for the Asia Democracy and Human Rights Award, hoping to raise awareness about this human rights champion who silently speaks up for children's rights.

Amihan V. Abueva visited the CWLF's Child-Friendly Spaces and Co-parenting Center, where the CEO, Lifang Pai, introduced the various services provided by CWLF. The two CEOs, being acquaintances, discussed Amihan's women's program launched in the Philippines and shared information about the handicrafts produced through the CWLF's empowerment program for charity sale, exploring potential future collaboration opportunities.

CWLF became a member of CRC Asia in 2017, and over the years, it has been both powerful and motivating to collaborate with other member organizations within the coalition.
